There are two types of cells, rather we can say organisms based upon the presence or absence of nuclear membrane.
These are (1) Prokaryotic organisms and (2) Eukaryotic organisms.
(1) Prokaryotic means 'primitive nucleus'.
These type of organisms do not have nuclear membrane and therefore the genetic material is floating in the cytoplasm.
But the central part of the cell containing genetic material and other structures like ribosome constitute 'nucleoid'.
Examples are bacteria.
(2) Eukaryotic means 'true nucleus'.
These type of organisms have nuclear membrane and genetic material remains inside it.
RNA after formation from DNA comes out of nucleus through nuclear pores on the nuclear membrane.
Examples are Amoeba to human being.
