Answer- Cathy spent 1/2 part of money in dress

Step 1- Total part of pocket money =4

             She spent=1

             Now, rest part of pocket money = 4 – 3 = 1

Step 2- Now we add the part of money spent on movie and book

           1/3 + 1/6 =  ½

Step 3- Now we subtract it from rest of pocket money she has.

            1 – ½ = ½ [Answer]

So, Cathy spent ½ part of money in dress.

Answer:

Cathy spent 3/8 of her total pocket money on his dress.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total pocket money spent = 3/4

Pocket money spent on movie = 1/3 of 3/4 = 1/4

pocket money spent on books = 1/6 of 3/4 = 1/8

Given that she spent rest of her expenditure on dress

=> pocket money spent on dress = 3/4 - 1/4 - 1/8

= (6 - 2 - 1)/8

= 3/8

Hence Cathy spent 3/8 of her total pocket money on his dress.
