The few causes of Anglo Burmese war were :-
1) The Burmese had captured Assam
and Manipur creating a drift with
the ruling British.
2) British ruled Calcutta supported
rebels from the Burmese of Assam
and Manipur and frequently
created problem in the territory.
3) Also raids in other territories near
Calcutta by the Burmese provoked
the British to go to war.
The British won the war and as a consequence Burmese suffered casualties of about 15,000 and had to pay one million in sterling and also sign a commercial treaty.
