1.the nawab refused to grant the east india company concessions and stopped it from building fortification. 
2.the nawab also denied the east india company right to mint coins.
3.the company was not paying taxes,writing disrespectful letters and humiliating the nawab and its officials.
4.the company was also convinced that to expand trade,it had to enlarge settlements,buy villages and rebuilt its forts.
