it is caused by Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi bacteria.It may spread through contaminated food or water. Widal test is the mainly used test for diagnosis of typhoid.Symptoms include high fever, headache, stomach pain, weakness, vomiting and loose stools.To cure it patient is given antibiotics like penicillin.He is also given fluids to compensate for liquid lost in vomits etc.It can be prevented by eating clean hygienic food ,filtered and disinfected water.keeping surroundings clean. patient is given broad spectrum antibiotics and lots of fluids.
