Cells are the building blocks of each and every living being in this world they form the structure of the living organisms.Cells combine to form tissues which further combine to form organs and organ systems. Therefore, cells are the basic structural units of the living organisms.
There are also some other important life functions which the cells are responsible for performing such as digestion, respiration, nutrition etc. These processes take place inside the specified cells, thus enabling every multicellular or unicellular organism to live. Because of this reason the cells are also the functional unit of the living organisms.

Hoping this would be of help to you. Cheers
