Because the cell organelles perform only few functions but if any one of the organelle damage then the cell will not be dead it performs their other functions but other cells are present to perform their function. That's why it's so.

It is because each cell organelles contains its own functions or limited functions but they are not called as structural and functional unit of life because they are self sufficient and can perform all jobs without anyones help whereas cell oragnelles is interdependent they cannot perform all their functions on their own
