In this poem, a poet conveys a message of peace and harmony and depicts the bond of humanistic concern established betweensentinels of enemy camp across the fence in the Indo-Pak war. The year 1947 India witnessed the traumatic event of partition and Kumar highly regards the sentinel duty of safeguarding the country from border enemies whose patriotic service for the country is so immense and intuitive in spite of his wife’s illness and son’s death he was concerned of his country’s defense. It also highlight a misery of two friends across the border who can't help each other and have to perform their duties.
