True.
Chlorofluorocarbons [ CFC ] :
- Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) destroy the earth's protective ozone layer, which shields the earth from harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays generated from sun. CFCs & HCFCs also warm the lower atmosphere of the earth and changing global climate.
- Chlorofluorocarbons are man made compounds which destroy ozone in upper atmosphere (stratosphere).
- The stratospheric ozone makes life possible by shielding our earth from the harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays generated from by the sun. Decreased concentration of this stratospheric ozone allows increased amounts of UV to reach the earth's surface.
- These CFCs while acting to destroy the ozone, CFCs & HCFCs also act to trap heat in lower atmosphere, which causes the earth to warm and climate & weather to change.
Hence it is true, Cfc is pollutant.
