Step-by-step explanation:

Q.6 ) Let the parallel sides of the trapezium-shaped field be

Let a=x and b=2x and h=100m

Then, its area.

= 2/1

(a+b)×hm^2

= 2/1

(x+2x)×100m ^2

=50×3xm ^2

=150xm /2

But it is given that the area of the field is 10500m^2

∴150x=10500

⇒x= 150 /10500

=70

∴ The length of the side along the river is 2×70, i.e., 140m.

Q.7)Let the length of one parallel side be x cm.

Then, the length of the other parallel side will be (x+6)cm

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × 9 × (x × x × 6)

=180 = 1/2 × 9 × (2x×6)

= 360 = 18x + 54

= 18x = 360 -54 =306

= x = 17cm

Thus, the two parallel sides are 17cm and 23cm
