Answer:

Amount of calcium in the chalk = 12200gm.

Amount of carbon in the chalk = 3660gm.

Given:

A chalk of 122kg contains 10% calcium 3% carbon and 12% oxygen.

To find:

Amount of Carbon and calcium.(in grams)

Solution:

Given that there is 10% calcium in the chalk.

Now, we have to find 10% of 122kg.

 =  >  \frac{10 \times 122}{100}

 =  > 12.2kg

Now, If we convert 12.2kg into grams then we will have to multiply it by 1000.

=> 12.2 × 1000 = 12200gm.

Now, it is given that the chalk contains 3% carbon.

Therefore, we have to find 3% of 122kg.

 =  >  \frac{3 \times 122}{100}

 =  >  \frac{366}{100}

 =  > 3.66kg

Now, If we convert 3.66kg into grams then we will have to multiply it by 1000.

=> 3.66 × 1000 = 3660gm.
