Formation of Natural Gas -

Natural Gas is a product of decomposed organic matter mainly from ancient marine microorganisms that were deposited over past 550 million years ago.

Natural gas is formed deep within the Earth from decomposed organic matter. Plants and marine animals die and are buried. Over time, this matter is compressed as more and more layers form over it. When this organic material is exposed to high pressure it is broken down into hydrocarbons and becomes natural gas.

Hope it helps you ✌️✌️

Natural gas is formed under Earth's crust by the decomposition of marine plants matter and tiny sea animals buried under sand and rock, in conditions of high temperature high pressure and absence of oxygen so just like coal and petroleum natural gas is also a fossil fuel .
