sulphur is an element with atomic number 16 and electronic configuration as 2,8,6 . it's valency is 2 and it is interested in taking the 2 electrons and become stable. hence it is a non metal. It shows the property of catenation upto some extend ( only 8 ). It forms many ionic bonds with other elements, such as hydrogen and the resultant compound is sulphuric acid ( H2SO4 )
