The total land in that he planted trees and shrubs is

• Given data :

Total area of the land is 12 acres.

He planted trees 4/5th portion of the 1/4th part of the total land.

He planted shrubs in 1/10th part of the total land.

• So,the 1/4th part of his total land

= 12×1/4

= 3 acres

• So,the amount land in which he planted trees is

= 4/5 × 3

= 12/5 acres

• The amount of land in which he planted shrubs is

= 1/10 × 12

= 6/5 acres

So,the total amount of used land

= 12/5 + 6/5

= (12+6)/5

= 18/5

= 3.6 acres

So,he planted trees and shrubs in 3.6 acres of land. (Answer)
