Answer: \frac{18}{5} months

Step-by-step explanation :

Dinesh's investment = 60,000

Let Dinesh joined after x months.

Thus, He invested his money = (12-x) months.

Now, Chandru invested amount = 42,000

He invested his money = 12 months.

Thus, the ratio of their dinesh's profit and chandru's profit = \frac{60,000(12-x)}{42000\times 12}

= \frac{5(12-x)}{42}

But According to the question,

The ratio of their profits is 1 : 1

Thus,  \frac{1}{1}=\frac{5(12-x)}{42}

42=60-5x

5x = 18

x=\frac{18}{5}

Therefore, Dinesh joined after 18/5 months.
