The following three sentences can be changed into indirect speech as follows.

(1) Meenu asked the teacher if she could sit there.

(2) Sanjeev asked his friends whether he could play with them.

(3) Mother asked Ritu why she was disturbing her.

Saying what a speaker has said without mentioning the exact words is known as an ‘Indirect Speech’.

Here ,it is essential to make the correct use of the reporting verb like "said to" or "say" in the correct tense.
