Change the following celsius temperature to kelvin scale:

(i) -40°C. (ii) -100°C.

As we know,

K = °C + 273.15

K = temperature, Kelvin

°C = temperature, degrees Celsius (Centigrade)

So putting the value of temperature in centigrade.

(1)  K = °C + 273.15                                       (2)  K = °C + 273.15

    K = -40 + 273.15                                          K = -100 + 273.15

    K =  233.15                                                   K =  173.15
