Change the following into indirect form of speech :-
i) Hari said to me, "Can you spare some money for me
ii) My father said to me, "Don't waste your time".
üi) Sheela said, "I have lost my watch".
iv) They said, "What a pleasant sight it is?"​

The indirect form of the given sentences are as follows:-

i) Hari asked me if I could spare some money for him.

ii) My father told me not to waste time.

iii) Sheela said that she had lost her watch.

iv) They exclaimed that it was a pleasant sight.

  • inverted commas are removed in indirect speech.
  • The words may not be exactly the same as those in direct speech
  • present tense in direct speech becomes past tense in indirect speech.
