The above sentence is in Passive voice . In English there are two voices :

1. Active voice
2. Passive voice

In Passive voice the subject is not of much importance and is placed at the ending of the sentence while the object is placed at the beginning. Also the preposition by plays an important role in differentiation .

How to change the voice ?

• Identify the subject and object.

• Interchange their places .

• Add the preposition by if it's active voice to Passive voice .

• Remove the preposition by if it's passive voice to Active voice .

• Don't change the tense .

Examples :

• Sujeet checked the answer

- The answer was checked by Sujeet .

• The answer was corrected by him .

- He corrected the answer .
