Chapattis made from bread swell up but bread becomes spongy,soft & easy to digest.Why is it so?

The flour of bread is mixed with the yeast powder which makes it fluffy and soft and it becomes easy to digest . But chappati doesn't contain the yeast .

Because it is made up of yeast . When yeast respires carbon dioxide is released. It makes the bread soft& spongy . It also increases the volume of the dough. This is process in which bread is made.
