Explanation:

Capacitors have many uses in electronic and electrical systems. They are so ubiquitous that it is rare that an electrical product does not include at least one for some purpose.

2:- The dielectric constant is the ratio of the permittivity of a substance to the permittivity of free space. It is an expression of the extent to which a material concentrates electric flux, and is the electrical equivalent of relative magnetic permeability.

Answer:

Uses of Capacitors are as follows :

  • Capacitors can store charge even when there is no current in the circuit. Hence broadly used in charging circuits.
  • Capacitors are added to Full wave and Half wave rectified circuits in order to decrease the Pulsatile character of output and ensure a constant output.
  • In AC circuits , it helps in correcting the Power Factor

Dielectric Constant:

Dielectric Constant of any material is equal to the ratio of Permittivity of that material to the permittivity of vacuum. It is denoted by "k"

  • It represents the Electric Flux density of that material.
  • It is a dimension-less quantity

Mathematically , we can say :

 \boxed{ \red{ \huge{ \bold{k =  \dfrac{\epsilon}{\epsilon_{0}} }}}}
