x/3 + 2y =5

we can rewrite these equations as

2x + y =8 -( 1)

x + 6y=15 -(2)

now multiply equation (2) by 2

x will get eliminated

so the equation will be

2x + y =8

2x + 12y=30

-11y= -22

so y =2

and x =8-y/2

putting value of y we get value of

x=3

so values of x=3 and y=2
