Answer:
1) Kezia`s father punished her because she has torn her father`s Port Authority Speech`s paper.
In my view point, he was wrong as Kezia was not knowing the importance of that paper. She thought that it`s an ordinary paper and tore it to fill the Pin Cushion which she has made herself to gift her father on his birthday.
2) In the short story 'The Little Girl' by Katherine Mansfield, the little girl, Kezia, started making the pin-cushion as a gift for her father for his birthday the following week. Kezia's grandmother had suggested that she make a pin-cushion for him from a piece of beautiful yellow silk. She thought that her father would appreciate her kind gesture. She stuffed the pin-cushion with some important papers that contained her father's speech.
3) Her father wrote a speech on those papers related to the port authority. She was unaware of the fact that those papers are some important documents of her father.
She unknowingly used them as she was preparing a gift for her father. She used those papers by tearing them to wrap the gifts.

1) when her mother was sick and she was alone at home.. Alice the maid who had gone..no one was there at home... Sometimes later when she saw a nightmare she started shouting her father came with a candle a snuggled her in his arms and said "rub your feet against me to keep yourself warm" kezia, changed her mindset for her father.
2) It is a universal truth that every father loves his whether he expresses it or not.In the same way kezia who thought her father was cruel noticed that he loved her so much.It is just that he did not express it.kezia noticed this when her father looked after her so well when she was dire need of it
