"Custard The Dragon" is written by Ogden Nash. It's a humorous poem but with an important message.

The poet portrays Custard as a timid dragon. Custard was a pet of Belinda. He lived in her house with Ink, Blink, and Mustard. Custard had big sharp teeth. His moth was like a fire place and his nose acted as a chimney for him. He also had daggers under his toes.

But still the dragon Custard, cried for safety. He wanted to live inside a cage. For his cowardice, he was mocked by the other pets of Belinda. They all boasted that they we're far more courageous than Custard.

One day when a pirate entered their house. Everyone fled away but Custard jumped on the pirate and ate him up.

Everyone was happy and pleased with Custard for a while but then again they started to boast about their bravery which was actually non-existent.

This shows that Custard was a humble dragon. He was pure in character. He never braved about his bravery. Courage can be measured at the time of serious situation. And Custard proved that he was the most courageous among all by not running away from the danger.
