Anne Frank is the protagonist of the the novel "The Diary of the Young Girl". Her diary emtries give an insight about her character and personality. Anne find a good, confident and a true friend in the form of a diary which she was gifted by her grandma on one of her birthday. Anne does not think that she is pretty but she is confident that her personality and other good traits make up for it.

Anne is a playful and comical but with the serious side. Anne feels extremely lonely and preserved before she is gifted the diary. She is a very good observer. We can understand this by reading the way she has described all her friends in her diary entry. She thinks that her mother is in favour of her sister Margot Frank. She shares a very close relationship with her Pim (Otto Frank). She is finally a very precocious girl who talks more than what she should.
