Character sketch of Bertie
Explanation:
In the text, Bertie was Mrs. Salt-pen Ja-go's second son. He meets Philip Sletherby on the train and introduces him as Mrs. Ja-go's son who would be around 22 years old.
His behavior was slightly weird since the beginning as he checks his pockets several times but failed to find his coin purse. There she asks her mother's friend Philip Sletherby's help and asks 3 pounds from her.
Philip notices that the cre-st that Bertie tells her doesn't actually match with Ja-go's cre-st and his failure to tell Mrs. Ja-go's hair color leads her in confusion. Thus, she doub-ts on him and she refuses to help him. But later knowing about Ja-go's change of hair color makes her realize that Bertie was right about the cre-st.
