Doctor Cuss was a local practitioner of Iping who was jealous of continuous growing popularity of the stranger around the little town, Iping. Therefore, he decided to expose the stranger before the people of that village. He made an excuse of collecting fund for nurses with which he went to Coach & Horses to meet the stranger. During his meeting with the stranger, he started putting up illogical questions & started touching the private things of the stranger which irritated the latter, who, angrily, pinched his nose after exhibiting his invisible hands to him. His explanation of invisibility to Mr. Bunting was turned down by the latter stating that there is no existence of such person in this world. His efforts fail to convince others that he has encountered an invisible man but no body believes in him.

➡Dr. Cuss was the general practioner at Iping village. He was a close friend of Mr. Bunting the vicar. He was quite inquisitive by nature. When he came to know that Griffin was an experimental investigator, he became more curious to meet him.
➡One morning he reached Coach and Horses and knocked on the stranger’s door. Griffin did not like his coming in and received him coldly. Dr. Cuss began asking him questions which annoyed Griffin. Then suddenly, a draft of the wind from the window blew a paper into the fire place. The stranger rushed to save the paper from burning as some important information concerning his research was written on it. Dr. Cuss noticed the stranger had no hand; only an empty sleeve.
➡This further raised Dr. Cuss’s curiosity; he asked him more questions. This further infuriated Griffin. Griffin took his invisible hand close to Dr. Cuss’s face. Dr. Cuss felt the invisible hand. Finally, Griffin pinched Dr. Cuss’s nose with his invisible fingers. Dr. Cuss was shocked and frightened. Scared, he ran out of Griffin’s room in panic and went straight to the vicarage.
➡Griffin treated him and Mr. Bunting badly when he visited Coach and Horses to recover his journals containing his research work. Since he was invisible both of them could not understand who was manhandling them.
