George works for a bank. Like the other two friends of his,he also hates work and is quite. His friends think that he only slept in office and did no work there. He is a very dominant person who loves the sound of his own voice. He controls all the conversations and pretends that he knows a lot about the sea,but in reality it is just the opposite.
George also doesn't seem to have a fashion sense, which is evident from the loud coloured blazer he has. He is dependent on others to lead him. However,he is seen suggesting some fine things for the trip, like suggesting the boat trip and not taking oil with them that shows that he had a fair understanding of things and how they should be done. He surprises the narrator sometimes by showing his sensibility. George loves laughing at others but doesn't take the jokes on himself too well. He is also a bad banjo player but is always keen to play.
