Hello friend,
Arthur H Keller, father of Helen Keller, was an officer in the Confederate Army, editor of "The North Alabamian" newspaper, and Marshal of Alabama. He had a strong character.
He was an upright citizen -- resourceful, determined and hardworking --never shirking his responsibilities. Educated n established as a lawyer he joined the Army when the need arose.
He practiced law till 1874. He purchased "The North Alabamian" and remained it's editor for 10 years. In July 1885, he was appointed United States Marshal for the Northern District o Alabama.
Arthur was married twice. He had 2 sons from first marriage and 2 daughters from 2nd marriage. Helen the elder daughter lost her sight and hearing in her early childhood.
He left no stone unturned to educate Helen and give her best of everything.
Arthur was fond of fishing and hunting. He was an engaging storyteller  who shared many anecdotes with his daughter. His taste for gardening was one of the factors that developed in Helen a love for nature. Helen had a cosy relationship with her father. He was devoted to Helen and was an affectionate father.
Hope it helps.

Hey there

Mr. Arthur H. Keller is the dad of Helen. He was the Confederate Army Captain. He was a devoted family man and a loving dad to Helen. He married twice, and his second wife is Kate Adams for whom Helen was born. He was not only an Army Captain, but also did newspaper editing. He was a lover of gardening, and was fond of growing strawberries and so on...

He was a considerate man who treats everybody with good hospitality, so that's proves him to a kind hearted man. Helen loved to hear stories from her dad, and they both were very much affectionate! As said by Helen, he used to hunt. He was a full support to Helen, and didn't feel her as a child with disability! In short, he was really a great dad. But unfortunately he died in the year 1896.

Hope dis helps you ^_^
