We know him as Hello Silberberg, the friend of Anne Frank who met with her on the last morning before she went into hiding. When Otto Frank sent him a first edition of the diary in 1947, he wrote that Hello “was the last person to see Anne in freedom”. Ed Silverberg was born on 8 June 1926 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
