He is fussy about his health (Hypochondriac )and believed himself to have a lot a serious illnesses.

=> The protagonist of his own classic novel as well as the narrator, he is a hypochondriac always concerned about his health. He is not so vocal and rarely takes any initiative but his presence is indispensable. He is a keen observer of people and places. Coz of his long association with river Thames, he gives a wonderful description of people and places on the river. His sense of humour and ability to laugh at himself is unmatched. He loves beauty and romance. He displays a deep knowledge of the social practices, history, food, costumes, drinks that people of the Thames region are associated with. In fact, he has all the qualities of a professional traveller.
