There are many important characters in the hour of truth and one such character is John Gresham.

The character sketch of John Gresham was such that he was the boss of Robert Balwin who was in contrast to Gresham a very honest man.

Gresham had a positive outlook however that changed when he got accused for theft. He told Baldwin to lie, basically in his own words told Baldwin to say that " he didn't remember".

He also bribed Baldwin to do this.

So

- he was dishonest

- he offered to bribe his own employee

-he was corrupt

- he was not loyal

However, in the end he turns out fine considering he realizes how he was attempting to corrupt another man by making him lie for him.

John Gresham was arrested.

He was being underpaid by his boss at his office but he never complained about his low pay nor did he speak about it to his son or family.

His personal secretary Baldwin who was a man of integrity asked John Gresham to make good on what he has stolen from the bank and then close the bank.

Gresham also begged off Baldwin to testify under the defense of faulty memory about the embezzlement.
