Kezia is the protagonist of Katherine Mansfield’s short story entitled “The Little Girl ”.

One of the main characters in this story is Kezia’s father. Initially, he is portrayed as a harsh disciplinarian. He punishes Kezia and maintains a strict atmosphere in the home. Kezia is shown to fear him.

However, as the story progresses, readers see a more gentler man, capable of comforting his daughter when she is distressed.

Kezia was a small girl. She was very pretty. She was very talented. She was a very good girl. But one problem was there , she was afraid of her father. Kezia used to be afraid of her father because her father talked to her harshly. One deham grandmother told her to make up in question to gift him on his birthday which was approaching. She stitch the clothes from three sides and looked for the things that she could stuff into the stiched cloth and soon she found some papers in her father's bedroom. She told them and stored in her case but those papers were containing speech for the port authority. One Dave and her father came to know that kg I had told them into pieces to make a pincushion he got infuriated and beat her with a ruler. After this incident she became more afraid.

One day kg ahead and Nightmare which made her to terrified and she was crying out of fear. When she woke up ok she found her father besides her bed with a candle in his hand and he asked her what the matter was. When he come to know about her Nightmare he blew out the candles went down and out of the child in his arm. He carried her to the big bedroom and made her on the bed and put the covers up around her. That time Kezia realised that her father was also good.
