a^2 + b^2 = 60

Add 2ab on both side,

a^2 + b^2 + 2ab = 60 + 2ab

( a + b)^2 = 60 + 2(2)

a + b = √64

a + b= 8

Hey

Here is your answer,

Given that,

a^2 + b^2 = 60
ab = 2

By using the identity ( a+b )^2 = a^2 + b^2 + 2ab

( a+b )^2 = 60 + 2 x 2
( a+b )^2 = 60 + 4
( a+b )^2 = 64
a+b = √64
a+b = 8

Hope it helps you!
