Born on October 2, 1869, M.K Gandhi was an activist and a leader of India's non-violent freedom movement against the British rule. He supervised Indians in challenging the British-imposed salt tax with Dandi March in 1930. In 1942, he later called the British rule to Quit India by launching the Quit India Movement. He believed in the policy of Ahimsa or the policy of Non-Violence. He is known as the Father of the nation hence, Indian people call him Bapu Ji.
