She was very humble and considerate and proved to be a true guide, philosopher and friend to Helen. She was helen's friend nearly about fifty years. She came across as an exceptional individual, selflessly dedicated toward the education of her world. Helen saw the world through her eyes. She taught her all the subjects starting with the spellings, with great patience. She taught her words related to sense,smell and language.It helped Helen in communicating with others. Helen's life had changed after her arrival and she enjoyed each and every moment spent with her.

She was the one who taught Helen not just like an ordinary teacher but someone as who would teach all the aspects of life.
