Mrs Packletide had many flaws in her personality. she had to incur quite a big loss because of her vanity and jealousy. If she were not suffering from these flaws, she would not have to feel so regretful and ashamed at the end. Her jealousy against Loona Bimberton egged her on to do something adventurous; so she opted for tiger hunt; the chain of events unfolded in a manner that led to embarrassment of blackmailing.
