Opu is the main character in the story "Looking for Vultures' Eggs" written by Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay. Opu had found a book named 'An Anthology of Ancient Philosophical Works.' In the book, it was written that with the help of the mercury and vultures' eggs he would be able to fly. Opu believed in the book and started his journey to search the ingredients. He was able to arrange the eggs with a lot of difficulties, but it broke off by his sister while she was searching for something. He was very disappointed as he would never be able to fly.

Answer:

Opu is the central character of the story “Looking for Vultures’ Eggs”, who was a very innocent and simple lad. Opu found a book entitled “An Anthropology of Ancient Philosophical Works” in a wooden chest. When he opened the book he found information that states that if one can put some mercury in a vulture’s egg and leave it out for few days in the sun and after that hold it in his mouth, then he will be able to fly high in the sky. Though it is not possible in real sense, but as an innocent guy, Opu at once believed it to be true.
