Sandy Wadgers was the blacksmith, he was a knowing man and very resourceful. When he was informed of the furniture upstairs behaving extraordinarily and Millie was sent to solicit his presence, Mr Wadgers took a grave view of the case and thought it could be a case of witchcraft. He came aroud greatly concerned and and wanted to be led upstairs but did not show any hurry to do so. He preferred to talk in the passage and a discussion ensued. He seemed to be a man who lacked the courage for action and preferred to engage in discussion over any concrete action.
