The full name of Tenali Raman is Tenali Ramakrishna.

He was well-known as Vikatakavi.

He was a Telug poet and he hailed from what is currently the region of Andhra Pradesh, commonly known for both his humour and wit.

Tenali was one of the eight poets at a court of Krishnadevaraya, otherwise known as the Vijayanagara emperor.
