The Abbot of Aberbrothok was a virtuous man.He wanted to save the lives of sailors whose ship struck against the hidden Inchcape Rock.Therefore he placed a bell floating on a buoy on the Inchcape rock.It gave its warning ring.The sailors who could save their lives because of the bell felt grateful to the monk and praised him heartily
