Victoria was a nice little girl who truly loved her grandfather She was quite simple, innocent, and lovable. She was surprised to see her parents sneaking the grandfather's belongings downstairs. She was so happy to see her grandfather alive.
Abel was a jolly good fellow who knew how to live life to the maximum. In spite of being seventy plus;he had such a passion for life. He loved his drink. He knew when to hit the iron when it was hot. He took a fair revenge from hos daughters by altering the will, and inviting them to his wedding.
Mrs Slater is an ungrateful, selfish, materialistic and unethical woman. She is avigorous, plump, red-faced,vulgar woman, prepared to do any amount of straight talking to get her own way. She is not sad and upset over her father's death. She is only concerned about her share of property of her deceased father. She steals her father's bureau, slippers, and clock before the arrival of her sister. She is not concerned about sending for a doctor to have her father examined.
Mr Slater was a stooping, heavy man with a drooping moustache. He was a henpecked an submissive husband who could not oppose doing his wife's wish.
Mrs Jordan was is a stout, complacent woman with an impassive and an
irritating air of being always right. She like her sister was a greedy and materialistic woman, though she appears to be a little sorrowful at her father's loss, but soon we see her real nature when we come to know she is more worried about securing her father's golden watch for her son, Jimmy.
Mr Jordan was rather a jolly little man, who liked being humorous on all occasions. He had a bright, chirpy little voice. He was also quite greedy as it was he who reminded the gathering about grandfather's insurance money and the premium when they were discussing his assets for the division.
