WHO WERE HOUYHNHNMYS ?
They were horses.They are similar to ordinary horses but they had wit,intelligency,wiseness and smartness unlike ordinary one.
THEIR FEATURES
they were rational horses and their society was governed by reason and truthfulness like human beings.They never tell a lie.
MORE ABOUT THEM
They are masters of the yahoos,It meant that they were served by yahoos.
WHAT IS SO CALLED 'YAHOOS' ?
Yahoos were human like creatures in Houyhnhnm land.
I will write more about yahoos in upcoming sections.
IMPACT OF HOUYHNHNMS ON GULLIVER
Gulliver was too impressed by them and was too much pained to leave them.
YAHOOS
as I mentioned earlier,yahoos were slave of houyhnhnms .They were untidy and resembled like humans.yahoos are not capable of government and are kept as servants in the land.Gulliver started observing the behaviour of yahoos.He was interested in them.Also,he always tried his best to keep a distance from them ,as he had a great afraid of them.He even was attacked by the yahoos and could hardly save his life from him.

Houghnhms means horse but it also conveys the idea of the perfection of nature. they are morally so good that there is no word in their language for a lie or a falsehood. they are endowed by nature with general disposition to all virtues.there grand principal to cultivate reasons and to be wholly governed by it .
there are no controversies and disputes among them. friendship and benevolence are there twocordinal virtues among them. their offspring produced up in accordance with the dictates of reasons. A female houghnms after giving birth to one of each sex does not go in another issue she rather stops having sexual intercourse with her consort. this way population is co trolled. there is no important ance given to curtship, love, dowry etc. and strength only gets uppermost importance. there is no disloyalty on unchastity among the couples. so we find them models for human beings to elumate as their spirit of coperation is amazing.
however we feel that there is an element of asurbdity in there way of lifewe just chuckle thinking how horses can be excellent poet. they know neither love nor grief , neither lust nor ambition. they dont understand the meaning of opinions. they love everyone equally.
