All coelenterates are aquatic, mostly marine. The bodyform is radially symmetrical, diploblastic and does not have a coelom. The body has a single opening, the hypostome, surrounded by sensory tentacles equipped with either nematocysts or colloblasts to capture mostly planktonic prey.

* This name of cnidaria is due to single cavity Coelenteron​ .

→ Cnidarian have tissue but don't have organ or organ system. That's why they posses tissue level of organization.

* Radial Symmetry :- The body can be divided into two equal halves by a single plane passing through the centre from top to bottom.

* Diploblastic :- Animals in which two layers namely endoderm and ectoderm are present are known as Diploblastic animals.
