• They consists of living cells.
• The intercellular space may or may not be present.
• The cell wall is thick due to the secondary deposition.
• The cell wall contains cytoplasm.
• Cell wall doesn't have pits.
• They have both vital as well as mechanical functions like providing support and elasticity to plant body.

They have irregularly thickened ,flexible and translucent,cell walls
They have living protoplasts.
They have axially elongated cell, varying from short isodiametric and prismatic cell ,to long ,fibre-like cells with tapering ends.
