Answer:
Proton—positive; electron—negative; neutron—no charge. The charge on the proton and electron are exactly the same size but opposite. The same number of protons and electrons exactly cancel one another in a neutral atom.

Characteristics of electron
- Mass - The mass of an electron is about of the mass of a hydrogen atom (which is the atom of the lowest mass) since the mass of a hydrogen atom is 1 a.m.u. we can say that the relative mass of an electron is . The absolute mass of an electron is however,
⠀⠀⠀ gram.
- Charge - The absolute charge on the electron is 1.6 × coulombs of negative charge. since this is the smallest negative charge found to be carried by a particle. It is taken as the unit of negative charge, this means that an electron has one unit of negative charge.
Characteristics of proton :-
- Mass - the proton is actually a hydrogen atom which has lost its electron since the mass of an electron is negligible being almost that of a proton and the mass of a hydrogen atom is 1 a.m.u. Therefore the relative mass of proton is 1840 times that of an electron. The absolute mass of a proton however is gram.
- Charge :- the charge of a proton is equal to the charge of an electron show the absolute charge of a proton is 1.6 × coulomb of positive charge this incidentally has been found to be the smallest positive charge carried by any particle so this is taken as the unit of positive charge does the relative charge of a proton is plus one (+1)
Characterstics of neutron
- Mass - the mass of a neutron is equal to the mass of a proton in other words the relative mass of a neutron is 1 a.m.u. and its absolute mass is gram.
- Charge - Neutron has no charge ,it is electrically neutral
