olga was the maid in surgie's house. he was a kind women. lushkoff would never have changed without olga's help. she used to curse him for being a drunkard and ruining his own life. lushkoff changed only because of olga. when sugie gave lushkoff woods ro cut he was so weak that he could not even pick up the ace but olga helped him and cut the wood for him. she kept crying and cursing lushkoff. this way olga was a kind and helpful women

House was a realistic human besides being a compassionate in kind heart she was the only one to have realised that Lushkoff was not fit enough to do menial labour in the cold . he was a drunkard and he might be even sick, which even sergei had failed to understand.
