characteristics shown by viruses:
- they are not cells, they do not have cytoplasm or cellular organelles and carry out no metabolism on their own.
- therefore they replicate by host cell's metabolic machinery.
- when they are non living they dont show any mechanism, but once they enter the body of the host they become active.
- viruses can infect animals ,human beings and even plants.
- eg of diseases caused by virus include HIV and Flu.
