The theme of journey by night is the COURAGE of Sher Singh . He was brave and courageous .He was having the courage to take his brother ,Kunwar from Laldwani to the hospital for treatment because he was ill and dieing . The other theme is the FRATERNAL LOVE i.e his love for his brother expressed by him. FEAR is the one of the theme as Sher Singh had the fear of seeing his brother dieing and also the STRUGGLE OF LIFE.This story is really motivating as this story is giving a good example for phrase"TRY TRY BUT DON'T CRY ".

sher singh is the protagonist of the story journey by night.he is a brown and cheerful boy aged 12.he is strong as he carries kunwar on his back all night and is also familiar with the jungle. he is very responsible as he undertakes the responsibility of carrying his bro to the hospital when he sees that he is writhing in pain and his father is not around. his willingness to help shows his concern for his bro. his love for kunwar is selfless as he does not think of the perils of the forest. he always puts his bro first. he is very courageous and does not back out when faced with wild animals. he has a good presence of mind and is quite resourceful too. on the whole, he is a strong character who saves his bros life with his courage and determination.
