Hey!

______________

Hellen Keller with a sense of hesitation started writing the history of her life.
She was deprived of the basic faculty of senses after some initial years of her life.

She became frustrated, that obvious for one to be who has a dark world.
But where there is a will, there is a way.
Helen had a desire to be a normal child, even if she is deprived of the basic senses.

She learned to cope up with her deafness and blindness, she was in a dark world, but a ray of hope penerated even the darkness that veils her eyes.

She , with the help of her family and her teacher Miss. Anne Sullivan learned to cope up with her blind and deaf world.

I salute her, we , being a normal child can't do what she succeeded to do!
She was having hunger to learn, to speak, to be a normal child.
She was determined.

She didn't fear of trying something new each time, she succeeded in climbing the tree after a dreadful experience she experienced when she was on the tree and the storm occurred.

She was a nature-loving girl, even the nature played an important role in helping her to feel like a normal child, she felt a kind of satisfaction in the arms of nature, she felt the breezing air, buzzing of bees!

She was a sharp observer as well, kind and decent!

Helen was really a daring child, she didn't let her be frustrated, instead she tried to continue her life normally as others do, and reading her story of life , I believe that where there is a way, there is a way.

Her parents was doted on her and were deeply grieved and perplexed. They both always supported Hellen.

HER FATHER -:

Her father, Mr.Arthur H.Keller was a captain in Confederate Army.
Her father was a nature loving person. He was so attached to nature that wherever he went to live, he bought pots of plants, and kept them in his house.

He was a loving person, he tried to spend as much time as possible with his family. He was indulgent.

It was his love for nature only who inspired Hellen to be in love with tress, flowers, and plants.

HER MOTHER -:

Her mother was Kate Adams, she was Helen's father second wife.
No matter if she was her father's second wufe, she always loved Hellen. She took care of her patiently, she soothed Hellen's pain whenever she suffered from pain.

She always tried to make Hellen feel like a normal child. She was determined to educate her child , Hellen. She knew that even a deaf - du.mb - blind child can be educated.

HER TEACHER -:

Her teacher, Ms. Anne Sullivan played the most important role in educating Hellen and helping her to move on the path of success.

She was partially blind as well, but she determined to teacher Hellen how to read.

She was having a very sympathetic attitude towards Hellen's pleasures and desires. She never forced Hellen on a certain topic. She always took everything easy.

She was having a wonderful way of explaining things to Hellen, she didn't believe in bookish knowledge, she always let Hellen observe things and that's why everything was stored in her memory spontaneously and effortlessly.

Overall, with support of her family , teachers and friends , she succeeded to move on even if she was deprived of basic senses.

Heya mate,

______________

● HELEN KELLER

Helen Keller is the writer, narrator as well as the central character of The Story of My Life. The book, while tracing her journey from childhood to her college days, underlines many of her characteristic traits.

In spite of her disabilities, Helen showed exemplary determination and perseverance in her life.

Even though Helen had become mute with the loss of her ability to hear, through her hard work and unfailing resolve, she learnt how to speak.

Helen overcame all the ordeals and fears on her journey to realise her dream of going to college. Helen appears to be an enthusiastic and, at times, unruly from a very young age. She was frequently gripped by bouts of depression and discontentment. But strong will-power motivated her to overcome all negativities.

Being deaf and blind, her only source of knowledge about the world was her books. Thus, Helen was an avid reader. Helen also loved travelling and staying out-of-doors. Her love of the countryside is evident throughout the text.

Even though she lacked the sense of sight, she could appreciate the beauty of nature and the works of art.

● HER MOTHER

The greatest credit of making Helen self-reliant went to helen's mother, who was the epitome of encouragement and motivation.Right from her early days,Helen noticed the entire world sitting in her mother's lap.Her mother succeeded in making helen understand a great deal.

She learned to distinguish her clothes, do errands, make crude signs and feel all the objects. Her mother stressed on Helen's strength s and did not complain about her depravations.During Helen's temperamental outbursts, there was great understanding on her part.Helen was never alienated, she was always within the family, entartaining guests and making christmas preparations.

Helen's mother had read Dickens 'American notes,' she had read of the deaf and blind Laura Bridgman, so she never gave up hope for helen's education. Most of the family members doubted if Helen could be educated but her mother persisted in her efforts and finally Miss Sullivan arrived at their door step.

Helen's mother never interfered with the innovative methods of Miss Sullivan teaching and providing all the support. She was the lady who could take a firm step also when things turned little ugly at Gilman school, Helen was immedietly withdrawn.

Helen's mother tried very hard to make Helen communicate. When Helen learned to speak for the first time , it was her mother, whom she wished to communicate with at first.

So Helen's mother remained her greatest strength and her greatest inspiration and Helen had discovered the world, sitting in her mother's lap.

● HER FATHER
He was a loving father and was devoted to the family. He was also a good hunter. Helen notes that his “hospitality was great, almost to a fault”.

He also seemed to have keen interest in gardening and maintaining orchard. He was very fond of his dogs. Helen calls him an excellent story-teller, who used to entertain Helen by spelling stories on her hand.

Helen recalls how her father would be delighted to give to her anything that pleased her. Mr. Keller tried every means possible to first get her cured of her disabilities, and later, to give her proper education.
